Post-Olympics...

So since they have been off the air I have found time to read with my kids, do laundry, go to bed early, read... What fun is there in that? Para-Olympics start soon so hopefully they will have lots of coverage.

My house is often very crazy with having 4 in diapers (foster babies), my #1 dealing with ADHD/Anxiety/OCD at 7 and #2 dealing with Anger control issues at 5. I have a hubby home full-time on Long Term Disability with mental health issues about to take disability retirement and my 20 year old step-daughter moved in with us. Add a crazy 2 year old dog, 5 month old puppy and 2 elderly cats. That is my house. My 2 oldest kids are about to start a 2 week Spring Break. If you do not hear from me for the next 2 weeks it is because I am sitting in the corner blubbering like an idiot :) I have a Princess birthday party in the middle of Spring Break too, can not forget that.

Best part of the day is my 5 year old asked me to marry her on bended knee with an orange - too cute. That is her above.

So What To Do Now...

Today is the last day of the Olympics. According to my DD#1 I have been watching too much of it. They have been cheering along with me but I think she secretly does not fully understand. DD#2 cheers whatever I am but #1 asks why, what is going on, what does it mean. I have never been huge sports fan, watching a bit of hockey and some curling with my FIL but this year has been different. Started with the Superbowl, for the first time I understood football. I watched and not just for the commercials. Now I have witnessed us get almost all of our Gold medals and many of the silver and bronze. They have heard me cheering and come running expecting another Gold and they are disappointed that it is only a good play. When #1 and I are out she will whisper to anyone that will bend her an ear that Mom watches A LOT of Olympics. They laugh and I made a joke. But it is true, I do watch a lot, I AM A PROUD CANADIAN! These athletes are amazing, nit just in their sports, but in their communities. I can only hope that my 2 DD are as kind and aware as these amazing people. We as a country have put a lot of pressure on them to represent us and they have not disppointed. Yes there have been upsets but on a whole we have handled our losses with grace. Can not say I would have been the same. Now saying all that kind and uplifting things I am getting ready for a great Hockey game. The rivalry between Canada and USA is great and our players are going into the games with a whole country behind them. No matter the outcome we win, we will win either Silver or Gold - but it is a win. There will be no loss today. After that we will get ready for the para-olympics. My kids do not know that there is more Olympics to come!
GO CANADA, GO!

WOW

Where have I been? Oh yah going crazy! many on the ride, few have gotten off along the way. My house is more crazy than ever. My 2 girls are almost 7 (YIKES) and 5. We also have a 2.5 yr old boy, 2 yr old girl, 16 mos girl and a 9 mos girl - all foster children. Plus my 20 year old step daughter has moved in with us. So that makes the head count 9 people, 2 dogs and 2 cats. Are you still with me... Think I am uber crazy - well I am. My newest adventure that I have been considering is being a gestational surrogate for a couple that is not able to have these blessed thing we call children on their own. Many things weigh in this decision: my health, my family's health, my work load, my household... Can I save and help the whole world? I think I can of course, but I am getting old. 40 is through the next 2 doors... My 2 girls deserve all that I can give them and all the energy I can give it with. What to do...

Crazy Famr in the summer

Summer is a good time here at the crazy farm. The kids can be outside each day even when it is raining. I love that my kids love to go outside even when it is raining. Not all my plans are coming together. I had hoped to get to a new park each week but that has fallen to the wayside. My foster kids all have visits and I have to fit that schedule into nap time and other such stuff. We are spending lots of time outside and playing the water lots. We have had the stomach flu this summer also. Our house has changed members since my last entry. We have a 6 year old and a 15 months old and a new 5 year old. With my 2 girls my husband and the 15 month old are the only boys! Good balance as far as I am concerned. Lets see, I have also become addicted to Facebook since my last entry. It is a great way to get in touch with people from our past! But that means that other people can get in touch with you that you do not know. I had this guys ask to be my friend and I had no idea who he was! I ignored him and sent him on his way. I have very little time as it.

First Day!!!!

Well... Life at the crazy farm is off to roaring start as usual! We currently have 6 kids 2 of our own and 4 foster kids. Yes we are a foster family. There is actually a fight brewing as I type. All the kids are 5 and under and some days we have 7 or 8 depending on what is going on. I will be able to write more and let everyone know who I am and why I do what I do.
